How Do We Size A Heat Pump?
We size every heat pump from a heat loss check done one room at a time, never from square footage alone. That means measuring rooms, counting windows, checking the insulation and asking what heats the home today.
From that check we know how much heat every room needs on the coldest night, and which heat pump fits. An undersized unit leaves bedrooms chilly, while an oversized one starts and stops all day and wastes power.
What Is In A Written Heat Pump Quote?
Our written heat pump quote names the make and model of each piece, its capacity, the spot chosen for every head and for the outdoor unit, and the installed total. Below that it shows the rebate you are likely to get and your cost once it is paid.
Nothing is left to a handshake. If the plan changes on the day of the install, the change is written down and signed before the work continues.
Why Do We Build For Cape Breton Weather?
Most of Cape Breton gets 250 centimetres of snow or more a year, strong winter winds and salt air close to the water. A heat pump that is not set up for those conditions will freeze up, lose airflow or wear out early.
That is why we use tall stands and wall brackets, face units away from the wind, leave room for defrost water to drain and suggest coastal models near the shore.
Do We Help With Heat Pump Rebate Paperwork?
Yes. We explain which rebates you are likely to qualify for, give you an invoice itemized the way Efficiency Nova Scotia asks for it, and remind you of the steps that must happen before the install.
The rebate is paid to you by the program, not by us. We make sure the paperwork on our side is complete so it does not hold up your cheque.
Who Do We Work For?
We work for homeowners, cottage owners, landlords and small businesses from North Sydney to Chéticamp, St. Peter's and Isle Madame. Many of our customers are retired, and we take the time to explain the heat pump controls until they feel easy.
